How well would issues of Vogue and Cosmopolitan sell if “real women” were used instead of professional models?

Question by tangerine: How well would issues of Vogue and Cosmopolitan sell if “real women” were used instead of professional models?
I recently heard about a German women’s magazine planning to stop using professional models in their pictures and instead feature “real women”. How well would fashion magazines sell in the US if “real women” were used instead of models?

I actually think they would sell well. People will pick up the magazine not wishing they looked like the person on the cover but pick it up because the person reminds them of themselves. I read tons of women magazines but some of my friends won’t because they think all the clothes are for stick thin girls. Including a variety sizes will include way more people so I think readership will actually go up. Plus anytime U.S magazines do include “All Sizes” they recieve a lot of positive feedback.
